Charlotte thinks 'it is of fundamental importance to find the most commercial way of dealing with clients problems,' and although she is friendly, she is not afraid of getting straight to the issue.

Charlotte has always wanted to work for a niche law firm, enabling her to work in a developing and pioneering area of law. The prospect of combining this with her love of travel seemed the perfect career choice.

She believes Travlaw is special because: “We get to work with such interesting and, in many cases, high profile clients. I think it is great that although we are a small firm, we are renowned in the field we work in.”

Career highlight to date? Travelling to the Arctic Circle to lead an evidence gathering exercise in order to defend a large multi party claim!”

Favourite holiday? "Laos for its cultural difference and beautiful, unspoilt landscape. I especially enjoyed having local food, sat on the floor in candle light, overlooking the lake in the capital, Vientiane. It has to be the most relaxed capital city in the world! ”

Anywhere you’re longing to go? “Africa, especially Botswana and Zanzibar. It would be warm and interesting culturally. It’s a continent that I would love to explore.”

Best piece of law advice? “Consider the most commercial way of dealing with a matter from the start. If you have a claim with fantastic evidence, fight it all the way. If the evidence is scarce on the ground, consider if IT commercial to fight? Or would it be sensible to come to an amicable settlement? It will limit the legal costs, time, and effort if you make this decision from the outset.”
