Ray Baskerville
Accounts Manager
Ray has worked with Stephen throughout her career, originally as a legal secretary, and now counts him as a really close friend and was happy to join the Travlaw team in 2003. She has always been interested in accounts and enjoys their “black and white” nature as it suits her methodical, logical approach to work.
Ray believes that a career in accounts is evolving due to E-billing and her current “baby” is running the firm’s Package Travel Trust account service.
Ray highlights the approachable, family feel within the firm as the most enjoyable aspect of the job. When asked about her future Ray explained: “I don’t ever see myself leaving. I can’t imagine that there is another firm like this. I don’t know many people who love their job like I do - it poses great obstacles sometimes but I want to be here in 20 years time.”
Career highlight to date? “When I first started working for Stephen I never thought I would be in this position and I am really proud of having the sole responsibility for accounts.”
Favourite holiday? “My family went to Australia for six weeks last year. I saw my twin brother and I got to see the places where I used to live that I haven’t seen for a long, long time. It was quite emotional for me. It is such a lovely outdoor lifestyle - the children loved it.”
Anywhere you’re longing to go? “I would love to go and see the Incas and the Aztecs in south America. It would be fascinating to walk around and they are deteriorating so they won’t be here forever. I’m interested in the history side of things. But then we’re off to Disneyworld in Florida this year which should be amazing!”
Best piece of law advice? “Reps should bend over backwards to try and sort problems out. People waiting days to try and change rooms is not going to make them very happy with the service they’ve received.” |
