FAQs
Why should I instruct Travlaw?
Well, to be blunt why wouldn’t you? Did we mention that in 2006, The Law Society Practice Standards Authority visited our firm and interviewed all members of the team, reporting we were one of the “best organised and happy law firms they had audited”. Chambers 2008 ‘Client’s guide of the Legal Profession’ praises our ‘extensive knowledge of travel law’ and rates Stephen as one of the top 3 travel industry lawyers in the Country.
Not only is our team of professionals experienced on a wide range of travel related topics as well as intellectual property, employment matters, dealing with radio/press, advertising standards and authority legislation – (honestly the list is endless) but you will find us friendly, approachable and very informal to work with.
How will I know the status of my case?
We promise to keep you up to date every step of the way, but you can always telephone the team for an update at any time, even if it’s just to have an informal chat about the weekend!
Do we ever lose cases?
Well, there is the saying “never say never” but we have an excellent track record for 2008, having lost not even one of our fast track, multi track or trading standards cases (couple of tricky prospects coming up though!) . But of course, things can go wrong in court for all sorts of reasons - witnesses not turning up etc - and sometimes clients rightly want to run cases to trial just to see what happens. We will tell you the odds in clear terms long before you get to the door of the court.
How will I fund my case?
Nobody really likes to talk about money, but clearly this is a topic important to us both. We recommend that you telephone our offices to discuss a tailored package to suit your own requirements. And just in case you didn’t believe us when we say how competitively priced we are, we will confirm your arrangement in writing. Also, see your 'client care' letter.
Do we run seminars or give training courses?
Yes we certainly do! We have undertaken many seminars and courses down the years, both in-house at offices and at venues up and down the country. We love hearing from our clients as to what issues and topics they want covered, and we always carefully tailor our courses to meet their needs and requirements. In addition we always try to run at least one 'public' seminar a year, combining both educational and social purposes. Also, many of you may bump into us at ABTOF, ABTA and other industry events: feel free to take advantage of us whilst you can - we don't mind at all!
