My favourite place

Santa Maria in Mozambique! My husband took me there on our honeymoon and no place can compare. It is a quiet and tranquil coastal region, far away from the humdrum of Maputo. We snorkelled in warm crystal-clear water and refreshed ourselves with dinner on the beach. There aren’t many (or any!) restaurants, although freshly-caught crayfish cooked on an open fire and flavoured with a smoky Portuguese sauce is an outstanding substitute. We climbed white sand dunes and sipped cocktails on the deck of our little beach cottage. A magical place!
